The Project

Located in Richmond Hill, Black Orchid Restaurant is a refined dining environment defined by sculptural arches, textured finishes, elegant furnishings, and dramatic artistic details. The interior combines warm hospitality with a sophisticated contemporary aesthetic, creating an intimate setting for dining and social gatherings. The lighting design supports the restaurant’s architectural character by emphasizing the rhythm of the arched walls, enhancing the dining atmosphere, and drawing attention to key decorative elements throughout the space.

Lighting Design

Canolight supplied the bendable aluminium profiles and LED strip lights integrated throughout the architectural arches, creating continuous illuminated lines that define the restaurant’s signature forms. All track lighting was also supplied by Canolight, providing focused illumination for the dining areas, artwork, service spaces, and architectural features. Together, the concealed linear lighting and adjustable track fixtures create a balanced layered effect—combining ambient warmth, precise accent lighting, and visual definition while complementing the chandeliers and interior finishes.
